Gutter basics
What do gutters actually do for my home?
They move water away from your foundation, which lowers the risk of erosion and settling during our heavy rains. Without them, water pools near entryways, landscaping and equipment, leading to algae, staining and moisture damage.
Do I need gutters if my home doesn’t have them?
Usually, yes. Many Florida homes were built without gutters, but unmanaged runoff erodes soil, cracks stucco, shifts pavers and feeds algae. See gutter installation.
Replacement
How do I know if my gutters need replacing or just repair?
Isolated problems, like a leaking joint or a shifted section, can usually be repaired. Replacement is more likely with widespread sagging, gutters separating from the fascia along several runs, or recurring stucco cracking near the roofline. We’ll explain which applies and why.
What size gutters do Southwest Florida homes need?
We install 6" and 7" seamless gutters, chosen by roof pitch, surface area and downspout placement. Undersized gutters are a common reason for overflow in storm season.
What colors are available?
Six colors chosen to complement common local finishes, including white, bronze and black. We’ll show you every option during your quote and help match your stucco and trim.
How soon can new gutters be installed?
Installation can generally be scheduled within the following week, depending on availability. Let us know if your project is time-sensitive.
Repair
Can damaged gutters be repaired, or do they need full replacement?
Repair often works for limited damage, like one section, a leaking seam or a loose downspout. Full replacement makes sense when wear runs along most of the system or the fascia is water-damaged. We never recommend replacement just because it costs more.
What are the most common signs of gutter damage?
- Water staining or dark streaks on the fascia below the gutter
- Overflow during rain, even without a visible clog
- Pooling water or soft ground near the foundation
- Shifted or displaced perimeter pavers
- Rust or moisture near exterior doors or pool equipment
- Sagging sections or gutters pulling away from the roofline
Gutter guards
What type of gutter guards do you offer?
Micro mesh guards, which use a fine screen to block debris while water flows through. They’re ideal under heavy tree cover and cut cleaning frequency without complicating your system.
Do gutter guards eliminate cleaning?
They reduce it a lot, but fine particles and downspout blockages can still happen, so occasional maintenance is still needed.
Cleaning
What does professional gutter cleaning include?
Clearing leaves, dirt and buildup from the channels, then flushing the system to confirm water moves through every downspout. It also surfaces hidden clogs and drainage issues.
How often should gutters be cleaned here?
Twice a year is reasonable for most Southwest Florida homes, more with heavy tree cover. A recurring cleaning plan keeps you on schedule without tracking it.
What happens if gutters aren’t cleaned regularly?
Blocked drainage leads to standing water, algae, mosquitoes, roof rot, foundation erosion and stucco staining. Routine cleaning prevents most of it.
